It’s been the most challenging 2 years of my life.
I was juggling a lot of things together. I thought it would be a breeze.
I guess not.
Frustrated with my lack of progress, I decided to take a step back and actually “look” at what I’m doing.
It didn’t take long for me to realize that I was just spreading myself too thin across different projects and tasks.
I was trying to do too much.
So that led me to a journey of finding the right “balance” and picking what I actually need to work on first. There’s only so much time in the day and you have other responsibilities in life. Sure, if I were younger, you could juggle a lot of things at the same time and cram things but when you are around my age, you’ll start to hate yourself.
Hanging out with other entrepreneurs, you’ll actually see this with them as well. They tend to have too many things on their plates which leads to nothing getting done. Just being in those get-together meetings doesn’t do shit. Those I know that succeeded the fastest had a singular focus and it was almost impossible to distract their asses from it.

What I’m Working On Now
For the past 1.5 years, my time has been mostly put on SeriousMD and very minimal hands-on work on other projects. I had to drop all the other workload, including blogging on the LeapFroggr blog because there’s just not enough time in the day managing different parts of a startup.
At this point, I can honestly say that it is still not a success and is still a work in progress. Dealing with a local niche market isn’t really the most ideal as I personally prefer a global market as there’s better room for reach and there’s a system in place to promote openness to technology during higher education, but it is what it is.
Reaching a local market though, has it’s advantages and our goal with SeriousMD has been to improve Philippine Healthcare since the beginning. We know we are in the right direction.
Now, if we could push politics aside and just garner the full support of the Philippine healthcare communities and organizations, it will definitely be a big addition to our cause towards a better healthcare system for everybody.
I’ve pretty much set up SeriousMD for the long term to continue it’s growth, so I now have time to work on the next important part of the business that only I can do. It’s going to be a bigger challenge and all I can do is strap on and take it head-on.

Why I’m Sharing This
I’ve always been an advocate of sharing what I know because in my current situtation, that’s really the best way I can help others.
I want to help people understand that juggling different things at the same time isn’t ideal because that’s just a recipe for being “busy” and not productive.
Do one major thing at a time, give it your full focus and ride it out until you can move and add the next thing to your plate.
Being an entrepreneur, you’ll always have that “shiny widget” moment and you just want to take action as soon as you can but come on, just think about it. You just don’t have the time and mental will to do everything at the same time.
I’ve made that mistake already, so learn from my mistake.
Remember…
One at a time.
